Volunteer Opportunities

Silver Anchor Auxiliary

Members of Huntington Beach Hospital’s Silver Anchor Auxiliary perform various service related duties for patients and hospital staff. They play an important part in the day-to-day operation of the hospital.

Auxiliary members deliver flowers and mail to patients, deliver and pick up menus, take patients to their rooms, deliver pharmacy supplies, and assist with transporting patients upon discharge. Auxiliary members staff the Information Desk in the main lobby.

Either a morning shift, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., an afternoon shift, 1 to 5 p.m., or an evening shift, 5 to 8 p.m. is available Monday through Friday.

If you are a resident of the communities we serve and over 21 years of age, you may volunteer at Huntington Beach Hospital.

Click here to download a Silver Anchor Auxiliary volunteer application.

Your information will be forwarded to our membership chairman who will promptly call you and schedule an interview.

You may also fill out an application and bring it to the front lobby visitor’s desk.

We do not offer student volunteer programs.

For more information, please feel free to call 714-843-5000, extension 5005, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and let the volunteer who answers the phone know you are interested in volunteering.

Volunteering Brings Special Rewards

Participation in the Silver Anchor Auxiliary is fulfilling, interesting, and stimulating. For some, volunteering provides and opportunity to interact with people and make new friends. For others, it is an opportunity to give something back to the community. The greatest reward is a sense of giving of oneself to help others.

At Huntington Beach Hospital we believe that each of our volunteers is special. Annually we host a recognition event to show our volunteers how much their work is appreciated. Our volunteers are also entitled to a free meal from the hospital cafeteria after each four hour shift they work. A commitment of 12 hours a month is customary. We do not offer a student volunteer program.
